The Yeti’s Adventure

... the mountain sheep he had hunted down, slipped off his shoulder ...

A Yeti wades his way through he thick duvet of snow covering the hard, rocky surface of a remote unknown location in the Himalaya mountains. He had been walking like this for days and he was totalled…

The route to his cave was simple: just follow the edge of the cliff that steeply sloped down. But the snow and the thick layer of fog made it a lot harder. The Yeti tried hard not to fall in.

Just as he thought it couldn’t get any worse, the mountain sheep he had hunted down and captured, slipped off his shoulder and, bleating, fell in the deep dark cavern below. The sheep’s cries slowly disappeared into the nothingness…

The Yeti got fumed with anger and gave out a long deafening yell.
It echoed for a long time until they finally stopped. The Yeti sat down and, hopelessly, stared into the deep cavern. He thought about his cousin, Bigfoot, and thought it would be way better to live in the forest. He stood up and set off into the fog.

He finally found his cave. After he had caught the pair of lost mice that were scurrying through his bed of leaves. He grabbed a few dried bamboo sticks, that he had found while he was visiting the rainforest, and lit a fire by rubbing two leaves together. He was so hungry that he crammed the mice down his neck without cleaning nor skinning them.

The mice warmed the Yeti up a little but didn’t stop his hunger. It took a few tries to really get the fire going but for the rest it all went smooth. The Yeti sat down on a sheep skin and warmed himself. Then the wind blew and almost put out his fire. The Yeti pushed a large rock in the caves’ opening just before a big blizzard started.

The Yeti ate a few twigs but it didn’t taste very good, they were all dry and crispy. He wanted fresh leaves! Then he  heard something. He listened more closely and heard a few muffled human noises.
Not those reasearchers again! They were about to push away the rock that blocked the caves’ opening. This time there was no escape.

... three humans squeezed through a small opening ...

The Yeti waited and waited until three humans squeezed through a small opening. They looked at the Yeti, open mouthed. Then they grabbed their guns, loaded them and fired.

The Yeti felt three needle like points sticking in his chest. He pulled them out and inspected them. He liked the fluffy ends and pulled them off. He threw the needles back at the humans. He missed, roared and charged at the horrid, ugly creatures.

Later he was sitting by his fire enjoying a tasty, fresh and tender meal.
