Juinior Whanau


Over he past 2 weeks Media Team has taken photos of the Junior Whanou. We did this to show you  some of the activities they do.

The Year 5&6 have been doing science, here ar some photos of their milk experiment.


This is one of the experiments that Room 15 has done.

This happens when food colouring meets washing
liquid on top of milk.

                                            During all these activities they had heaps of fun!

Week 4 at Beckenham

We had a very large group of athletes competing at the Zone Sports on Wednesday, with many fantastic performances. 32 students qualified to go to the Canterbury Athletics in December, our biggest team ever!


Have you seen our new mural? The cultural diversity mural went up on the library wall on Thursday; it celebrates the wide range of cultures that make up our school. Pictured below are the artists who created the mural.

Room ten are getting mighty fine at playing the xylophone. They are getting better every day :)

Week 2 Happenings at Beckenham

Kia Ora and welcome to our week two update!
Lots has been happening this week, including athletics across the school.
All of the children participated in shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, and sprints.
10 year old girls race to the finish.
Congratulations to Lyle Mathyson who broke the school record in long jump!
Well done to all participants and finalists, not to mention the staff's great efforts in the relays and preparing this occasion.

Other news...

Claudia Hillyer and Justine Bennett have been working on a special project for the flag pole garden.
With the help of the environment team, we will be preparing a new look to make the job for our fabulous flag bearers easier, with a flash new path so they do not have to hike through the out of control bushes.
We are trying to get this done ASAP, so it will prepared for the new year.


What else?
The year 7 and 8s are continuing to work hard on the production at the end of the year, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
Drama with Miss Harris, Dance with Mrs Inwood, art with Mrs Dunlop, singing with Sherilee music with Rowena and Mr Rodger.

Welcome to our new Media Team Blog

Welcome to the Media Team blog, we'll be posting new articles weekly. These will all include photos of  the activities taking place from across the whole school, Years 1 to 8.

At the end of last term we said goodbye to our beloved receptionist Mrs Radcliffe and greeted a new receptionist Mrs Sargent.
